Implementation of the EUR-ACE System in Romania
Opportunities and Benefits for Engineering Education
The paper presents a case study of the implementation in Romania of the European Framework Standards for the Accreditation of Engineering Programmes. A description, in the European context, of engineering education in Romania is followed by a presentation of the EUR-ACE system and of the measures undertaken by the Romanian Agency charged with quality assurance and accreditation in higher education (ARACIS) to adapt its procedures in line with the Framework Standards. The opportunities and benefits for engineering education in Romania are presented in outline.
