A Study of the Introduction of the Bologna Reforms as one Aspect of Internationalisation
European universities have been experiencing a decade of major policy reforms. The article is set against this backdrop and discusses the growing importance of internationalisation, the Bologna reforms, and more particularly the introduction of the new second cycle in Swedish higher education. The authors attempt to explore the interactive relationship between the development of government policies and strategies on the one hand and on the other the institutional implementation of radical reforms in three Swedish universities. The article is based on an existing on report on the introduction of the Swedish two-year master degree.
