Adaptation of the German definition and mapping of “Kleine Fächer/small disciplines” to the French Higher Education system
This article focuses on the question of which challenges are associated with the cross-national transfer of concepts in the Higher Education (HE) context. The experiences gained from a German-French cooperation project on the transfer of mapping of small disciplines show that differences, in particular regarding the structures of the respective HE systems, but also different previous experiences and subject-specific attitudes as well as cultural ways of communication, can represent obstacles to the success of the transfer.
