Quality assurance, quo vadis?
Practical findings on quality assurance in the context of the evaluation of a european university alliance
For some time now, there have been increasing tendencies towards a Europe-wide higher education governance, which are influencing the dynamics of Europeanisation. One aspect that has long been a central concern of European higher education reforms and is gaining renewed relevance in view of the “European Universities” initiative is quality assurance in higher education. But what challenges in the area of quality assurance are higher education stakeholders facing and which approaches are proving successful? The present article explores the quality assurance approach of the European higher education alliance FORTHEM as an example case.
