International healthcare student exchanges after the UK’s departure from the Erasmus Plus Programme
Turing scheme and feasibilitiy
This policy note examines areas of the Turing Scheme, a policy directive implemented in 2020 by the UK Government for international student exchange in the wake of the United Kingdom’s (UK) departure from the Erasmus Plus Programme. In this policy note, I consider how the Turing Scheme has influenced the feasibility of international student exchanges for healthcare students at UK higher education institutions (HEIs). Data has been collected from colleagues working in both the UK and Norway who are involved with the planning, management or facilitation of international student exchanges on healthcare programmes.
