The Role of Faculty and Campus Leaders in Advancing Campus Internationalisation and the Potential of a Shared Governance Model
Many higher education institutions have embraced campus internationalisation in the past several decades, increasing activities like international student recruitment, study abroad, and curriculum internationalisation. There are many constituents like faculty and campus leaders who advance campus internationalisation, but little is known about how faculty and campus administrators work together to advance campus internationalisation efforts. This report explores the role that faculty and campus administrators play in internationalisation efforts, and suggests shared governance as a model for faculty and administrators to collaborate to advance campus internationalisation. Future suggestions for research and implications for higher education are included.
