The Effect of the Pandemic on the Internationalisation of Doctoral Education
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all sectors of our society, including universities and doctoral education. This paper will look at the impact of the pandemic on doctoral education (including institutions, supervisors, and doctoral candidates) in the context of internationalisation. We will particularly focus on issues such as mobility, digitalisation, and funding, i.e., the main areas where significant impact has been felt. We will also give an outlook into the future. This paper aims to reflect on what we could learn particularly from the first year of the pandemic, to better understand how the sector can address major developments in the future.
