Establishing a Thought-Out Policy Framework on Inclusive Mobility Across Europe
Making Mobility Programmes more Inclusive for Students with Disabilities
Even though studying abroad or conducting a traineeship abroad has evident benefits, students with disabilities hardly participate in international mobility programmes. Few studies have investigated the barriers of participation that students with disabilities face. Therefore, the current study examined the needs and expectations for inclusive mobility of 1,134 students with disabilities, 114 higher education institutions and 23 national authorities across Europe. Based on the results and identified needs, concrete tools were developed to support higher education institutions, national agencies and ministries of education to implement inclusive mobility strategies at national and institutional levels.
