Recalibrating Internationalization
Perspectives for India in the Interconnected Global Order
Educational institutions hold the key to addressing grand challenges by conducting research that contributes to the sustainable development. Be it the fight against global pandemics or developing clean energy solutions, international academic networks and collaborations play an indispensable role. India’s National Education Policy 2020, has a bold vision for transforming Indian higher education into a multidisciplinary, flexible, research-oriented ecosystem. However, India lacks comprehensive internationalization required for producing robust research, innovations and fostering student and faculty exchange. With policy reforms, concerted efforts, understanding of global best practices and financing, India can benefit immensely to become a leading knowledge contributor in the 21st century.
