The Internationalization of Research
What Could We Learn From the German Excellence Strategy at the Cluster Level?
The current paper results from the direct observation of the follow-up activities conducted by the German Research Foundation on Clusters of Excellence awarded Excellence Strategy funds and from the analysis of Collaborative Research Centers’ evaluations. It provides a list of practices for the internationalization of research, the seven golden rules, which stem from the practices observed. It corresponds to the preliminary findings of the Project “The Internationalization of Higher Education: What Could Brazil Learn From the German Excellence Initiative Experience?”, funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s German Chancellor Fellowships.
