Internationalisation in Practice
Examples From the Graduate SPIRIT Project
A consortium of nine European graduate schools initiated a project in late 2017 to explore good practices for fostering internationalisation, interdisciplinarity and intersectoral cooperation in the social sciences and the humanities. This paper summarises the efforts of consortium members to enhance the international aspect of their doctoral training. It underscores that graduate schools recognise internationalisation as a key principle around which doctoral education needs to be reorganised. Based on inputs from project partners, the paper offers an extensive list of examples for advancing internationalisation in European doctoral education that could be adapted by other graduate schools.
