The Role of the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC)

North America is among the wealthiest, most diverse and most influential regions in the world. The region is also faced with substantial shared challenges, many of them not confined to any single country or even only to the region. The complexity introduced by this diversity creates an interesting set of problems and opportunities for the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC), a membership-based non-profit organisation with the mission of fostering academic collaboration among institutions, organisations and agencies of higher education in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
This paper focuses on the role played by this regional association in building an engaged, purposeful and successful North American higher education community.
